Clannad after episode 2.
Oh geeze....
Where the heck do I start with this one?
The summary of this episode is simple. Find sunohara a girlfriend.
This has got to be THE funniest episode of Clannad to date.
Essentially Sanae offers to be sunoharas "Practice girlfriend" But before all that we get to see some nice visuals and some more development on the other world. From there, it starts out with nagisa and tomoya discussing sunohara over lunch. Tomoya comes up with a plan to get sunohara a girlfriend. Off to yukines they go to discuss the plan with her. The subject comes up of her being sunoharas girlfriend, but one of her delinquint friends pops in and essentially threatens to kill sunohara. A brief attempt is made for either kyou or ryou...
Well lets just say..book to the head. Tomoyo is likewise unwilling.
In desperation Nagisa and tomoya ponder sunoharas character when like a goddess on high sanae suggests that she would be his practice girlfriend so that sunohara would understand how to treat a girl in the future.
Well.... The screencaps are enough for you to get a feeling. Basically, sunohara is awkward with this as sanae trys to get as far into character as possible to help him. This is helped by the fact that sanae looks like a teenager herself so it doesnt raise TOO many eyebrows.
And god are there funny scenes in this one.
I like the lightheartedness of the episode but really they are obscurely going through the differing family themes in a manner that while consistant with the visual novels storyline, also happens to be one which took the story and made it their own. Kyoto Animation so far has been doing one heck of a job (* Hides from the Haruhi purist Faction*)
Anyways, enjoy these screen caps for a bit while I go get some sleep.

Clannad ~after~ Episode 1

Alright. So we begin the fall season, of course, with a new clannad series.
Clannad after.
First and foremost kiddos, the pictures:

So there you have it.
After roughly an hour of fighting with blogger, I give you these pictures.
Snapshot:
New opening which is very well done.
They go through the process of re introducing the characters in a way, then move onto a small bit of plotline to give yoshino a bit more screentime. (hint, he plays an important role later on)
The gang proceeds to play baseball
Tomoyo attempts to act more womanly since she thinks she has to act like a proper lady all the time.
Sunohara gets kicked into a wall.
Nagisas father gets hit in the freaking leg with a baseball bat.
nagisa becomes the new pitcher. Her throwing is weak but comical.
Tomoya, throughout the game, attempts to not use his bad arm because he is afraid to hurt himself
He gets over it and actually hits a good shot.
If you guys havent figured it out yet, the balls of light and the afterworld are all correlated, so his act of swinging the batt caused an emotional trigger which caused another ball of light to form.
The new ending is really cute too.
I'm so used to the dango and meg mel that the ops and endings took me by surprise.
The initial scene showing ushio doing a skip walk (it did not reveal her face just showed the lower portion skipping. At first I assumed it was nagisa, but as I rewatched, I realized that the outfit was the kindergardner outfit that she wears in the game ((Subsequently, tomo from tomoyo after wears the same kind of outfit in tomoyo after)) Also, the proportion was odd, which led me to see it was Ushio skipping.)
The music was upbeat enough certainly throughout the ED song. Then the slow pan showing all the principal characters for clannad doing a long drawn out walk was intresting while not being overly done.
Impressions:
Well, I have played the Clannad game.
I am an old school Kanon fan as well.
So It took me by surprise that I began to like Clannad more than I liked Kanon while I watched season 1 last year.
The animation has taken (if this is possible) an upswing as compared to last year, but it would seem as though they spent an inordinate amount of time on the cging of things like the baseball in the last scene, the random car driving by, and perhaps Tomoyas deadworld form.
Anyways, Clannad is certainly a series which deserves this sequal. You only ever get one part of the bigger story with clannad in the first season. You get Nagisa and Tomoyas relationship establishment of course, but then you also have the basis of the theme being established in the school life part of the story, tomoya hating his father, him moving in with nagisa, him getting at first a shock view of what a family is, him coming to love nagisa and the family, then him understanding the importance of having a family, to finally him starting a family.
The story covers so much ground. Moreso than your typical visual novel.
If I recall correctly, from clannads start to finish (not counting the prequal in misaes route) the story stretches out over 10 years.
The Visual arts company, Key, are a bunch of genius' in the storytelling department.
Anywho. Now for a few stats about the songs:

Anime Blogger, Army guy.

Hello and welcome to anime channel Ex Zwei.

Why Ex Zwei you ask?

Because the old site ACX is unable to be accessed since I registered it under hotmail at the time.

Whatever.

So I am going to renew my efforts to get blogging about anime series.

I will admit this right now:

I am only, at this time, really following 1 or 2.

So without further ado. I bid everyone who may wander in welcome.
